How to use a wheelchair lift correctly

Wheelchair lifts make it possible for people in wheelchairs to enter and exit the vehicle safely and efficiently. However, you must have a washing properly to ensure the safety of you and the passenger. If you drive by a commercial organization, refer to the general procedures for the use of a wheelchair lift correctly.

Explanation: 

  • Park the vehicle on a flat surface. Make sure there is space so the platform lift wheel chair can be opened without obstruction. Set the parking brake to ensure the vehicle does not roll.
  • Open the elevator door in a wheelchair from outside the vehicle. Lock in the open position. 
  • Press the corresponding button to lower the lift platform of wheelchair wheels on the ground. Wait until reaching the ground and stops before loading the passenger to the platform. 
  • Wrap the belt around the wheelchair passenger and fasten with force. 
  • Set the locks on wheel chairs to ensure that the chair is not roll and have the cellar of the passengers in the handrails in the elevator. 
  • Stand on the ground and press the appropriate button to raise the wheelchair lift. 
  • Let the elevator up a couple of inches. Be sure to check the security barrier. If it is locked, you can continue to raise the lift platform at the appropriate level. 
  • Release the hooks on the wheel chair, then push the wheelchair in the seating area within the vehicle.
  • Double the wheelchair lift to your designated travel position. Close the doors.
